Aleppo

Original composition for Antonio Ortega Couture Spring-Summer 2017 Collection starting from Purcell’s Cold Song.

English

Composition: Purcell / Dacha
Interpreters: Dacha (keyboards, electro); Sébastien Fournier (vocals).
Recording: Made in Chapon

About
This musical creation is the fruit of three months of exchanges with Antonio Ortéga around his creations: materials, textures, choice of the place, and as usual a paradoxical theme, e.g. the alliance between “beauty and martyr” – the aesthetic pictorial of the crucified Christ.

The counter-tenor Sébastien Fournier has brought his exceptional voice to the proposed electro frame.

Contrasting the dramaturgy of baroque lyrical art with the modernity of electro sounds, Aleppo begins with a reinterpretation of the famous Cold Song (from Henry Purcell’s King Arthur) and then invites us to go beyond the pain of the martyr to a regeneration.

This song is dedicated to the civilian victims of Aleppo.

A propos
